Simulating device data

Preconditions

• M2MLabs platform must be setup and run, for instructions please see Getting Started
• A device must be prepared, for instructions please see Preparing sensor, device model and a device

Start simulation

• Start admin UI running http://localhost:8080/cs-ws/ using Mozilla Firefox
• Enter apikey to login
• Click on the "Simulation" button

Add device to Simulation Manager

• Select the prepared device from the device list
• Select the checkbox next to the attribute you want to simulate
• Click on the "Add to simulation" button to add the selected attributes to the simulation manager

Simulation Manager

• Data can be sent to server manually or automatically. Default setting is automatic with time period 5 seconds.
• The data value can be set manually (explicitly) or it can be random generated automatically in a range.
• Let's select random data generation. Top value default is 100 so the attribute value will be generated by the simulator between 1 and 100.
• Simulation can be started/stopped by clicking the button "Click me!"
• Let's start device data simulation

• The simulated data is displayed at the Log Window
