Summary: genxref 1.21 hangs after genindex phase

Initial Comment:
After checking out version 1.21 of genxref and 
attempting to re-index my repository, I found that it 
hangs immediately after the genindex phase.  My guess 
would be that the value of $_ has changed by the time 
line 68,   genrefs('/', $_);, is executed.
