what version to use Stable or Development

Hi,

The stable is some time old already, and the development version seems to have quite some fixes and features. So will there be a new stable some time soon or is the development version stable enough?

Also the stable version does not seem to be tagged in cvs (anymore) so I cannot diff my changes.
