#272 Displaying error message "pattern too long (has > 32 chars)" even when text length is 30 chars only

I'm using LXR-2.2.1 with MySQL DB and Glimpse for general search, indexing only regualr files.
On general search page 'lxr/search' I'm entering a search text of length 30 chars, still getting error prompt that pattern too long (has > 32 chars). PFA snapshot of error:

Can you explain accurately how you got this error? I troed with a 40-character string and all went fine. For instance, I submitted [*all_lowercase_letters*A-Z]XR version which is 41 characters long and it found the string in set-lxr-version.sh

The error message points to agrep while LXR launches glimpse. Check your lxr.conf to see if parameter glimpsebin (near the beginning of the file) effectively designates glimpse. I don't know if glimpse internally references agrep and this would be a second-level error, but I doubt it.

There is also a possibility you downloaded WebGlimpse instead of Glimpse. I know there are differences between them. My version is 4.18.6 (glimpse --version says 4.18.5 but this a bug).
