Believe it or not I had just finished a net-install of Debian Etch when I got your email. Unfortunately it took me a little longer to restore all my files/applications than I thought it would. I just downloaded the .deb files a few minutes ago, installed them and I'm currently using LXP. > I'd like you try this release and comment it. > Thank you very much for your suggestions >=20 > Manuel Carrasco Well, I've only been logged into LXP for about 5 minutes so far but I definitely like what I'm seeing!! Very much indeed. The new menu is awesome, every entry (and there are tons of them...) has an icon and so far I haven't found any entries that 'don't work'. I'm not going to try them all as I would be here all night clicking on menu entries. I've just now spent about 10 minutes going though the menu starting applications and switching themes back and forth with nothing bad happening. Nice work.=20 I'll keep 'torture testing' LXP on Debian Etch for the next few days but I think it will be pretty safe to say it's been tested under Debian as well as Ubuntu/Xubuntu and Fedora Core 5 (I've tested it myself on those distros). Switching between idesk, nautilus and 'none' works well - I haven't installed Xfce yet but that should be completed pretty soon so I'll be able to play around some more <grin>. Would it be possible to add rox-filer to the already impressive list of possible desktops? I know there are a lot of people using Rox with Icewm so it might be a good idea to add it to the list. I'm going to be busy for most of tomorrow (Thursday) but I should be able to look through the configs later in the day and maybe I can hack out a patch to include Rox... we'll see :-) Anyway, thank you for your attention to detail(s) and for bringing LXP into this world, it's a very useful project. Have you thought about getting a PayPal account and/or setting up a bank account so that people could make donations to the project? I looked around the site but didn't see anything...
