I just ran across an incredibly frustrating quirk in how udisks-based automounting is configured in *buntu distros and Lubuntu 14.04 is affected. Specifically, if PCManFM is running, then udisks will force the options on removable media mounts to the point that you have to remove the USB stick, kill PCManFM, and then reinsert it before a manual mount with plain old "-o exec" will work. What makes it especially frustrating is that udisks doesn't fix /etc/mtab when it adjusts things, so "mount" starts to lie about the actual options the partition is mounted with. |
