May it look like a viable alternative? > fltk seems to do relatively well in terms of bloat (i haven't measured tho), however since it's written in C++ i am not willing to use it for any own development. the optimal gui toolkit should be written in C for maximal portability and minimum bloat, without any external dependencies like glib, and feature lua bindings so one could hack quick apps in lua. i don't think it exists yet, the thing that comes closest is enlightenment, but i have the feeling they've also gotten way to excited about feature creep and eye candy lately. |
