Hi list, The first public release of next generation pcmanfm is coming... As most of the most important planned features are completed, more testing/debugging is needed. To turn on the desktop support: pcmanfm2 --desktop To open desktop preferences: pcmanfm2 --desktop-pref Things that don't work yet: 1. no thumbnail. 2. desktop icons don't have popup menu. 3. symlinks cannot be created. Otherwise, it's almost usable. Please get it tested. If you build it from source, please set CFLAGS="-g -O0" to turn off optimization and keep debug info in the generated program. Then, executing: gdb src/pcmanfm2 under the source dir of pcmanfm. under gdb, type: "run" to execute pcmanfm, or "run --desktop" to test desktop support. When you get a segfault, this will be caught by gdb. Just type "bt" in gdb, and you will get backtrace info. Give this backtrace result to us can greatly help the debugging. As the previously announced schedule, new pcmanfm will be released in Q1, 2010. Cheers! |
