Hi

There's an odd behaviour that I think qualifies as a bug in the desktop panel as of version 0.8.1:
When autohide when not in use is selected, if you browse an in dicator menu, such as the wifi-networking one, the panel hides when the mouse leaves the bar area, taking the menu with it.

Thank you very much for reporting this. Does that happen with anything else but mentioned one? And what exactly is that "wifi-networking" one? I mean, what applet or program is it?

    Hi

So far I have seen this happen to the WiFi, Bluetooth and Dropbox indicators. The bluetooth indicator comes from the blueman package.
This may sound weird, but it only happens when the menu is displayed with a left click. If I use a right click, which is the one that displays anything in the battery indicator, the menu persists after the taskbar has minimized.
The wifi-networking one is the indicator that displays the wifi signal strength, and the menu is used to connect to your wifi network.
If you find it useful, I'm using Lubuntu, which may explain a little more. Sorry if this is confusing, I'm not very tech-savvy.

Edit: Bluetooth is from the blueman package.

Well, I'm at Ubuntu myself, 14.04 is here, and I saw no such weird behavior with bluetooth indicator (it's Blueman application, right?), it doesn't open menu actually when left-clicked but Devices window instead. I have no Dropbox application and I have no idea what indicator is that shows wifi strength. So I don't know how to reproduce it. :(

Same here, Lubuntu 16.04, LXpanel 0.8.2. No problems in lubuntu 14.04.
When autohide is "on" I click on network manager icon and when I exit the area of the panel it disapears hiding the wifi networks menu also leaving me with ~1s to do what I want (connect/disconnect to a wifi network, edit connections, etc).
This doesn't happen with the volume menu, the start menu, the calendar menu or the Shutdown one. These stay open till I unhide the panel and reclick the icon again.

Problem still exists in Lubuntu 18.04, LXpanel 0.9.3.
The easiest work-around is to open the network menu with the mouse, then navigate the options with the keyboard arrows, the menu will not disapear.

Ditto Lubuntu 18.04, LXpanel 0.9.3. Thank you for the idea Maxime, arrows seem to work. If it helps, my experience is with a Dell Latitude 3540 laptop. Compton had to be installed for screen tearing, and numerous attempts at config utilities for the (synaptics) touchpad.
