I looked at its website but with a quick look it doesn't
seem too different to outputting in PNG or BMP.
This is the only request we've had for this file format
and I can't find any obvious benefits to using this file
format in their website FAQ so I'm going to mark this as
low priority.
Feel free to post to this section again and argue the
formats virtues as I'll be interested to hear.

XFIG is a vectorial format, as DWG and DXF. So a xfig file
can be modify by Xfig easily.
PNG and BMP are binary formats. You can modify they using
several programs, but the process is much more dificult
and the result worse.
