Hi all, I hope you are well :) As you have probably noticed, the development of luckybackup is frozen for years now and I really cannot say when (or if) it will start again. Most possible situation is that a release will be made for Qt5 compatibility, when Qt4 becomes obsolete. ** For that reason, all pending translations, in progress and new as well, should stop immediately until further notice. ** I understand that there is work done by some people and it is not yet implemented to an official project release. I personally apologize for that :( Of course, these translation files are available for use at the following link, marked as new: http://luckybackup.sourceforge.net/languages.html but still, I am very sorry that I didn't manage to make a new release and include them with it. Everyone have a great Summer kind regards, Loukas Avgeriou ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Hi all,
Martin found out that there some weird characters displaying at some phrases.
These affect a couple of names (sorry Sébastien & Matej ):
Sébastien Bourgain
Matej Urbančič
I have already updated the source files at transifex, together with a couple
of typos fixes ("aditional options" & "restore permisions").
If anybody notices anything else, please let me know.
kind regards,
Loukas Avgeriou
PS Thank you for the feedback Martin :)

Hi all, It's been quite a long time since the latest release. I really (REALLY) hope you're all doing well :) Due to lack of free time this project's development has slowed down a lot but I finally managed have 0.4.8 ready to be released. Do not expect much. This version's changelog mostly includes bug fixes, a few minor improvements and some more integration with the windows port (yes, as in "MS windows"). The new phrases are not much (around 50, but there are many that just need to be copied over) since the app changes are not much either. I have noticed that the transifex translation platform does not show the developer comments. There is always the way to downalod a .ts file for translation & use QT linguist (or whatever software you like) instead of doing it online. I'm here to answer any question, so do not hesitate to ask anything. As always, there is no deadline but it would be great to have as much languages as possible ready, before the release. kind regards, Loukas Avgeriou ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PS this message is a copy of the original transifex announcement: https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/luckybackup/announcement/42035/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Hi all, version 0.4.7 of luckybackup is just released. There's been a number of fixes and additions that can be found in the changelog below but nothing changed dramatically. Dear luckybackup translators team, After a year of inactivity, version 0.4.7 is about to get released within the next couple of weeks. The changelog can be found at the bottom of this message. The interesting news is that I decided to use the transifex service for translations !! www.transifex.net/ This is a free opensource platform that helps managing the localization of a project. To make a long story short, transifex ROCKS :) Please do not panic. You will soon discover that it's really simple to use. Here's the steps you should follow: 1. Sign in with transifex: https://www.transifex.net/accounts/signin/?next=/home/ 2. Go to the luckybackup project and ask to join your own language: https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/luckybackup/ 3. Pick one of the 2 ways to start translating: a. on-line b. off-line, by "downloading for translation" the relevant .ts file and uploading it back later on I really hope I'm not causing any inconvenience to anyone. Of course you can contact me about ANY issue whatsoever. If anybody does not wish to continue updating the translation for his/her language, please let me know. I really hope my message finds you all well :) kind regards, Loukas ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Version 0.4.7 changelog (up to now): * Introduced compatibility for the windows port (!) * Improved OS2 compatibility for snapshots * Added option to compress the logfile before sending it via e-mail * Added next/previous error buttons at commands output window * Added feature to backup profile, log and snapshot data to the destination after a task run * Added protection rule: Exclude list is disabled when user selects "only include", to avoid confusion * Added a "repeat-on-fail" feature for running tasks * Added "quite mode" during run, to only display errors and important messages * Added the ".gvfs" folder as an exclude template * Added "--super" and "--numeric-ids" as command options templates * Changed the global settings file from Qvariant to simple text * Changed the schedule file from Qvariant to simple text * Changed the profile import/export feature so that logs and snapshot data are included too * Fixed issue: email feature reported "process timeout" |

Hi all, version 0.4.6 of luckybackup is now available. The gui looks much cleaner thanks to Michael Daffin and there's a serious bug- fix concerning the restore procedure of older snapshots. Apart from that, everything else is pretty much the same. I really hope you are all well and wish everybody to have a great summer. Do not forget to backup before carrying that notebook at the beach ;) kind regards, Loukas ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ project webpage: http://luckybackup.sourceforge.net/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ changelog: * Fixed issue: Older snapshots restore did not always work as expected * Fixed issue: ".changes.log" files sometimes did not update their lines normaly * Improved gui. Thank you Michael :) * Changed default help browser size * Increased the limit of maximum snapshots * Improved OS2 compatibility for snapshots * Updated manual |

Hi all, version 0.4.5 of luckybackup is just released. Plenty of improvements and new features. You will find the full changelog a bit further down this message. The project's webpage has completely changed its look and is up and running. It's still a simple static page but I hope you'll like it more than the previous one. I would also like inform you that from now on there will be pet and sfs packages available for that tiny distro, puppy linux. The puppy-luckybackup combination can be quite useful for complete system backups. Finally, some brainstorming: As most of you already know, I am receiving donations through this project that I forward to people that need it more than I do: http://luckybackup.sourceforge.net/donate.html I am currently looking for a new destination for the money to go to. Any ideas are more than welcome. I hope you are all well :) ... and congratz to all women for yesterday's anniversary. kind regards, Loukas ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ project (new) webpage: http://luckybackup.sourceforge.net/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ changelog: * Added feature to email a report after backup * Added a "shutdown system when finished" feature (looks much cooler within kde) * Added move & edit options for the "exclude", "include", "command options" and "also execute" lists of items * Added option to delay @reboot scheduled jobs so as to allow the graphical environment to launch * Added conditional statements (stop task execution on error) for the "also execute" commands, in the form of a check-box * Added a command line argument to display current application version * Added extra directory check for mounted filesystems under /media or /mnt * Added actions after a profile/task rename, removal or deletion that will pass the changes to the snapshot & log files * Changed tray baloon notification to something that does not remind of windowz (only for kde-normal user) * Reduced the 2 backup task types to 1 and added a checkbox instead. Seemed like the 2 backup types were confusing to many * Save profile button is now greyed when not needed * Various (well, lots actually) changes to make LB more "OS/2 compatible" * Fixed issue: Useless lines accumulating within .profile files * Fixed issue: When the gpl license is not available no feedback to user was available * Fixed issue: Profile actions toolbar was not visible when gui run from command-line with a profile argument * Fixed issue: Profile execution pause, when an "also execute" command reported error (eg fail to start, timeout etc) * Updated manpage * Updated manual |

Hi all, just wanted to let you know that the new release is scheduled for this Wednesday, 09 Mar 2011. // *** The irrelevant wish: I wish everybody, that experiences the carnival these days, to have a crazy crazy time :D // *** The irrelevant reminder + bonus advice: Do not forget that the 8th is the International Women's Day. Hello again :) I have received a couple of messages that more or less ask "how much time do we have to finish the translation ?" Well, it's not like you/we're gonna miss a deadline. It's me who decides and I decide that I prefer to make a release with as much languages updated as possible than make an early one. So everybody, please do not panic or think about this work in any way as something that makes you nervous :) Take your time and do this at your rate. I would though appreciate any kind of feedback on estimated (and by all means not compulsory) time. Loukas ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Until then, it would be better to not work on the files I've already sent. Hi all, It was about time for me to stop playing around and get that next release ready. Many changes are included in this version as you can see at the changelog, at the bottom of this message The source tarball can be downloaded from the following link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14288691/luckybackup-0.4.5.tar.gz Extract it anywhere and have a look inside the "luckybackup-0.4.5/translations/" directory. (Hopefully) You will find your .ts file there. Update it and send it back to me. No .qm is needed. For once more, those that still struggle with earlier versions translations, do NOT work on the new files. First, send me your files with whatever changes you have made (unless there are no changes) so that I update them. If anybody does not wish to continue updating the translation for his/her language, please let me know. There's really no problem and I do not want to hear any excuses. I just need to know... This is not like 8 hours of non-stop translating, but still, it is some work. I indent to make the release in aprox 10 days (or that's what I say to myself...), so I suppose there's plenty of time. I really hope my message finds you well :) kind regards, Loukas ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Version 0.4.5 changelog (up to now): * Added feature to email a report after backup * Added a "shutdown system when finished" feature (looks much cooler within kde) * Added move & edit options for the "exclude", "include", "command options" and "also execute" lists of items * Added option to delay @reboot scheduled jobs so as to allow the graphical environment to launch * Added conditional statements (stop task execution on error) for the "also execute" commands, in the form of a check-box * Added a command line argument to display current application version * Added extra directory check for mounted filesystems under /media or /mnt * Added actions after a profile/task rename, removal or deletion that will pass the changes to the snapshot & log files * Changed tray baloon notification to something that does not remind of windowz (only for kde-normal user) * Reduced the 2 backup task types to 1 and added a checkbox instead. Hello all :) Yes, a new version is about to be released (again). The source tarball can be found at the following link: https://build.opensuse.org/package/files?package=luckybackup&project=home:luckyb69 If you extract it, the .ts files are under the "translations" directory. If you have finished the previous version's translation this one will include 10 new phrases and about 30 that need to be confirmed (from the guesses) or have slightly changed. Not much work I suppose. It took me less than 5 minutes to finish. Again, for those that still struggle with earlier versions translations, do NOT work on the new files. First, send me your files with whatever changes you have made (unless there are no changes) so that I update them. I really hope you are all doing well :) kind regards, Loukas ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The version 0.4.4 HUGE changelog: * Fixed issue: Displayed task last execution time at the main window, was alway s "not available" (thank you Michele) * Added support for snapshots when remote destination is used |

Hi Adrian (and all), as I already suggested to Julien (I think I did not broadcast that message to the mailing list), leave "default" blank or as a plain whitespace. This way, the user will always be informed that the "profile <PROFILENAME> did something" but the message will be the same for both simple and default profiles. Let me know if that sounds ok to you or if you have a different suggestion. Of course I will have that sorted out at the next release ;) Loukas ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Sunday 05 of September 2010 21:38:52 Adrian wrote: > Hello guys, > > I am working on 0.4.3 Romanian translation update and I have same issue > as Lucien Cynober ( Romanian is a latin language too ... :) ) > > "default profile <PROFILENAME> could not be saved". > "default" and "profile" are translated separately. > The problem is that in Romanian these words are in the opposite order. > The translation should be : "Profilul implicit ...". > > Did someone found a solution ? > > Adrian > > > --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > --- This SF.net Dev2Dev email is sponsored by: > > Show off your parallel programming skills. > Enter the Intel(R) Threading Challenge 2010. > http://p.sf.net/sfu/intel-thread-sfd > _______________________________________________ > Luckybackup-translators mailing list > Luc...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/luckybackup-translators |
