Nicolai, I've never tried this but I do not believe there is anything on the client to do name resolution. In a thin client set up the server is doing all the work - i.e. name resolution - and the client only runs a *very* stripped down system. Is there a reason you want to be able to reach a remote site from the client in runlevel 3? Pete -- http://www.elbnet.com ELB Internet Service, Inc. I can use ping with an IP number. In my /etc/resolv.conf is a valid line with a working nameserver. What could this be? What can I do? > > Nicolai |
