John, I think the problem is you are still trying to mount the old /tftpboot/lts/ltsroot directory as your root filesystem. That won't work. As of LTSP 2.09, the root filesystem that should be mounted is /opt/ltsp/i386 You'll need to fix the root-path in your dhcpd.conf file.
