We do most of our testing activities on embedded ARM and PowerPC boxes, so it is important for us that it works. In this case, since the rest of the LTP code isn't autotool based and indeed *does* cross compile in the mean time, I wouldn't be too religious with it and wouldn't mind if you make the build system closer to the rest.
