I have uploaded the first version of the CpuMemSets patch to the LSE project on SourceForge. It is the CpuMemSets-0.01 Release of the NUMA package. This is the first release of CpuMemSets. Included are: 1) kernel patch for linux-2.4.17 + IA64 patch + discontig 2) libcpumemsets.c C library for accessing new calls, and 3) a Python module for accessing these same calls. The included README file spells out in more detail what is included and what is missing. A couple of capabilities are not yet coded, and the packaging, build and install support is primitive at best. No man pages nor regression test scripts are available yet. The best available documentation is separately available as a Design Note on this LSE project of SourceForge, at: http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=8463&group_id=8875 CpuMemSets is intended to provide a low level, general purpose facility in the Linux kernel for use on large systems, including NUMA systems with dozens or hundreds of processors and nodes, to specify on which processor a task may be scheduled, and on which node a memory region may acquire memory. This Open Source contribution is brought to you by the Linux Scalability Project of Silicon Graphics, with many thanks to others on the SourceForge LSE project who have been providing important contributions to the design. -- I won't rest till it's the best ...
