The project looks interesting, if I knew cpp better I would be happy to help. I'm relativly new in linux (1 year) so things like forking, socket programming and direct access to the whole system is strong and cool tools. Despite the 1 year I do perl, php, c, pascal, java, firewalls, clusters, apache, coocon, cvs etc. I'm danish (maybe I can help with some wird translations) I've got plenty of ideas (who doesn't) but I don't know much about layer7 (guess thats what you would use to make a dbcluster?) and what about getting nodes in sync if down or new? hope you'll get a home page and more documentation...A bit more activity? and get some code into that cvs! :)
