What is LRGEX Compress?

LRGEX Compress is a free, open-source Windows tool that compresses and extracts archives. It's built around Zstandard (zstd) — a modern compression algorithm optimized for speed — and designed around one idea: you should never have to think about compression settings.

No levels. No dictionaries. No solid-archive checkboxes. No nag screens. You right-click a folder, it compresses. You right-click an archive, it extracts. That's it.

The .zgx format

LRGEX Compress's native format is .zgx — a tar.zst archive (tar stream compressed with zstd). It also extracts .zip and .rar. You don't need WinRAR or 7-Zip installed to extract those.
