Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Hmmmm... a precompiled kernel-module ? Mostly such modules are precompiled for e.g. SuSE's or RedHat's kernel used by their major version (SuSE-8.2 has 2.4.20, RH-8 has 2.4.18). If you could get the source you'd be much better.. if not, try to "force" loading the module, with a little luck I disabled module-version-checking and the module is working... > Thats why I'm attracted by lr-101 ..okay.. -Alex -- ++++ NEW WEBSITE ++++ http://www.linux-vpn.de |

I don't know how familiar you are with linux, but there's a linux running in windows called "Cygwin". Maybe this could be a possibility to transfer the image to a EXT2-FS HDD/CF. Usually, Cygwin is used to compile / crosscompile linux programs if you've a win workstation. You can find it at http://www.cygwin.com . Hope it helps - tell me if it's working or if you need some help.. |

Hi ! Seems to be solved .. it's "just" the CPU !!! Have recompiled the kernel and could re-create the problem. -Alex Am Die, den 13.04.2004 schrieb Bruno-Alexander Leonhardt um 23:15: > Hi, > > does anybody have had something similar like this : > > - LILO is loading correctly "LILO Loading <TEXT>." > - LILO is now rebooting the whole machine instead of loading the Kernel > > The "dot" indicates, that everything was successfully found ... but why > is it restarting ? > > All this is happening on a CL6000 with CF<->IDE Adapter ... Hi, does anybody have had something similar like this : - LILO is loading correctly "LILO Loading <TEXT>." - LILO is now rebooting the whole machine instead of loading the Kernel The "dot" indicates, that everything was successfully found ... but why is it restarting ? All this is happening on a CL6000 with CF<->IDE Adapter ... Have tried it with various adapter and CFs - always the same ... Any suggestions ? -Alex -- Bruno-Alexander Leonhardt |

Hi Wing, I recently read your post ... would you recommend to use bootdisk ? I've a Bootdisk (I call it "Troubledisk") to boot the LR101 if a error occurs at boot-level (e.g. boot-record, etc.) ... -Alex |
