The problem here is that parport_pc should be using parport, if it's all configured and working properly. For instance... % lsmod | egrep "Mod|par" Module Size Used by Not tainted parport_pc 18756 0 (autoclean) parport 34144 0 (autoclean) [parport_pc] ...so it still looks like parport_pc isn't being loaded to me. Is it in the lsmod output ... and if so what does it say ? Try checking dmesg or /var/log/syslog for messages saying something helpful.
