Not a huge issue, but I find dealing with OSS projects easier with git/github (easier to fork projects, and contribute back patches)

I'm planning to move the 1.5 branch to GitHub.

That'd be great. There're a couple of clones there already, including mine: https://github.com/prantlf/log4javascript.

Either github (git) or bitbucket (mercurial) offer great collaborative environment. Sourceforge offers mercurial too, if you wanted to stay with sources here.

I am really hoping to see the move to Github, but seeing there is no movement here for two years makes me slightly wary ...

I'm actively working on version 2 of log4javascript on GitHub: https://github.com/timdown/log4javascript2
