Hi, what you think about switching the testframework used in log4cpp to cppunit (http://cppunit.sf.net)? By myself I think it is a good idea to have more structured tests and using a library which supports the test writing. If you want to get an idea what I will do in the future with the testcase then you can have a look here: http://buzztard.org/index.php/Testing Byside: I plan to do a release this week and hope you try it :-) Regards, waffel |

Hello list, I will short introduce myself.=20 My real name is "Thomas Wabner" called on sourceforge short "waffel". I have started to integrate log4cpp in a large project and find out that it would might helpful to add some more documentation about the project, how to use it and so.=20 I have developed many years in Java-projects. For example, you can have a look to http://columba.sf.net. Currently I'am also one of the project maintainer in http://buzztard.org which uses gobject as the programming style (c++ for c ;-)) I have got an developer access from bastiaan and now able to fix any broken links on the homepage and so on. It would be nice if anybody want to help me sorting out any bugs, creating a more informal homepage, fixing bugs ;-) I plan to create a wiki page for this project where any user can add documentation and where we can better discuss and describe any idea's around the project. So, lets start push this nice project back ... Regards, waffel |

I downloaded and started using Log4Cpp a week ago. I ran into some memory leaks in version 0.3.4b. I tracked down and fixed all of them. What should I do with my fixes? MSVC6 running on Win2000 with DevPartner (BoundsChecker) to track memory problems. |

We have the problem that log4cpp crashes on exit. I know this is a known problem but, from the traffic on the mailing list and the lack of activity on SourceForge, nobody seems interested in fixing it. Is that correct? If so, did anybody track down why this crashing was occuring? This "feature" is sufficiently disruptive that we will not continue to use log4cpp if it is not resolved and I don't have time to track everything down by hand. Cheers, Simon |

For example, log4cpp logs the following: 995871335 ERROR main_cat: This is an error. Instead of this, can log4cpp do this: Thu Apr 8 18:17:38 PDT 2004 ERROR main_cat: This is an error.
