I was wondering whether there was still anything going on in this project. I am fairly new to this kind of open projects so I am unaware of what to expect from it. I posted some bugs and request some time ago and did not see anything happen. I can imagine that the owner of this project has a lot of other things on his mind, but I would have liked whether any input given by outsiders (like myself) is even considered or whether it is a pure loss of time (which of course I did not think at first else I would not have put any bug reports & feature requests in this project). Also I wanted to know if there are any short time plans to extend this project or whether it is considered done and finished with. If this is the wrong place to ask these kinds of questions then please accept my apologies, but I could not find a direct way to communicate with the owner of this project.
I presume that would be mister Batiaan, but I do not know whether it is opportune to mail him directly.
Thanks for replying

Your mail contains a lot of questions, I'll try to answer them one by one:
log4cpp is under actively albeit slow development (last development release was a month ago). Last week I was on holiday, hence the irresponsiveness to your reports.
log4cpp is a volunteer based open project: people are welcome to contribute code, documentation, etc. On an invitation basis some contributors (have) become full project members, with CVS write access, etc. Since the project is volunteer driven the development speed depends on the time people have to spare. Therefore the project does not have a time schedule. However I do have some idea's about what I want to have in a release branch. E.g. 0.2.x is now bug fix only, 0.3.x is intended to mature multithreading suppport. But other features may be included, depending on contributions by others.
You're very welcome to help log4cpp development.

Bastiaan Bakker
