The biggest benefit is integration. Which for instance means that the changes 
you make in the plugin are stored in the song.
Still I'm not sure I recommend it. VST support is flaky, though I think VST is 
flaky in general in linux. There has also been numerous problems leading to 
only specific Wine versions being usable (there is one fix in MusE cvs for 
this, which might improve the situation... or not)

I don't think this crash problem is there anymore. That said, 0.7.x is still 
much more stable.

Right, though 0.7.2 (a separate branch in CVS) will be out much sooner. A 
prerelease in a few days.
