OK. This matter should be closed now, in release_2_0 branch.

Please see ChangeLog Nov 9 for fixes and additions.

Reminder - manually remove the old "fluidsynth.so" or just
 uninstall MusE before installing.

As usual with these types of fixes, existing songs are silently converted 
 upon loading, and re-saving.
