MusE Users/Developers: Using MusE 2.0 beta 2 svn rev 935M, here. Is it possible to set the sequencer to loop over (say) four bars while recording from MIDI input, and to hear the notes build up on each pass through the loop? I find myself halfway there, by setting 'Rec Mode' to 'Overdub', and 'Cycle Rec' to 'Mix'. But while recording, I can only hear what I'm playing, not what was recorded before. Stopping the transport and then playing the loop back does reveal all the notes from each pass were recorded, though. If you've ever used a drum machine like Alesis SR-16, that's what I'm thinking of. Record (say) your hi-hat on the first pass, then the snare on the second pass, the kick on the third, etc. Each time the sequencer loops you get to hear the summation of all your previous layers, making it easy to keep time while recording the next layer. Thanks, Ernie |
