Do you really have 40 audio I/Os? Why so many? I've got 4 stereo set up for an 8 channel card (Maudio 1010LT). Although my setup is not very sophisticated - mostly for adding drums and keys to a practice session at the moment. Agreed that this can be seen in the mixer also, but I try to avoid that except when adjusting volumes. Given my use with 4 stereo inputs and 1 output it would be nice to at least hide them via a button, but not critical. I would not want them to be too hidden as I find it useful to refer to them.
