Dear Robert, too late I realized that you also contributed code to the dssi-vst feature - so please excuse, my thank you's also go to you! VST-support within muse is very nice - please check out "Delay Lama"! It is free, works fine with dssi-vst. I use it to test/play voice lines I later want to have sung by real people and it is very funny too. It has nice bend and modulation features too. I will report issues (stability, synchronisation) if I find one. I do not use software synths (I only use hardware sound generators) but take a look at "Bristol" - there are most recent packages available for ubuntu v9.10 in launchpad (e.g. https://launchpad.net/~marienz/+archive/ppa?field.series_filter=karmic). It is a package simulating many of the famous vintage synths, as far as I remember there is an organ included. The ghost marker window really is wired - now using ffado/firewire with the rt-kernel it is gone. I had it when I was on linux-generic and alsa. Well, at the moment I think we are three: Geoff, you and me reacted to my "invitation" - I don't want to suck, it was not ment as an obligation ;-) And for maybe others interested, there is no quality limit! I dreamed about sonofzev's techno-, Viktor's buzuki-, Geoff's didgeridoo-, Robert's rock guitar-version, Matthias' baby singing-, Tim's coded version ... I was so frustrated about time wasting by doing pc-stuff: I tested Xubuntu v9.10 32bit for music production and to my mind it is very stable working. I installed all the newest audio applications, ... and saved the perfected and twisted system with remastersys. Then I compiled as reported "swami soundfont editor" and all fluidsynth related applications were left unusable. Don't mind Michael, remastersys is the key - yes, but what I didn't know was that it had a bug concerning the new grub2 boot loader: I only generated a live cd without the possibility to re-install from it my saved system. Just now I finished setting up and twisting my system again, but I didn't loose hours, actually it was days :-( With my kindest regards to all muse users, Michael -------- Original-Nachricht -------- > Datum: Thu, 10 Dec 2009 21:42:27 +0100 > Von: Robert Jonsson <spa...@gm...> > An: MST <bab...@gm...> > CC: lmu...@li... > Betreff: Re: [Lmuse-user] Loading any Synth crashes muse > Hi Michael, > > 2009/12/10 MST <bab...@gm...> > > > Hello everybody, > > > > Tim's meals are fine - the dssi-vst-support works great.
