The App needs a visible period of time to build Windows and to perform other GUI-responses. As I work for an houre or so with the Matrixeditor, the GUI gets even slower, it can take more than a whole second just to drag a group of notes from one place to another and as I drag, the playcursor stops occasionally.

The audio/transport does not seem to be affected, loops are played OK, no dropouts, just a few xruns so far.

Version is 1.9.pre1 I got the same trouble with muse 8.1 yet NOT everytime i start the prog, (cool bug eh... ;-) )
I happens in 2-3 of 10 sessions, i´ll keep trying to fetch some useful messages from the terminal as i run it.

My System:

Ubuntu 6.10 edgy eft with rt-kernel from Ubuntumusique,
X Window System Version 7.1.1
QT 3.3.6

    Hello Hartmut,

Do you have composite enabled i xorg configuration?
There was another report about slow gui some weeks ago, this was resolved by disabling composite.

    Great, I'll close it.
