Slightly, yes.  It would instead use pre-set markers within the file.  As
Louigi illustrated, commercial software such as Renoise supports this.
 FruityLoops has supported loop-points from the beginning as well.  Great
find Louigi.  @Vesa, the timing of this is quite coincidental.  I'll have
that AFP artwork sent over this week.
