Yes. This is a question that pops up every month or so. Usually something like: "Why 'Linux' if it has a Windows port?" (You can download the Windows beta from our website by the way). The reason is because it was originally made for Linux. Also, I don't mind if "Linux" stays in the title because it is our legacy. Secondly, "Why 'MultiMedia', if it is only music/sound?" Well, the reason for this is beyond me. I think it was just a poor translation on Toby's part (he is German). However, Now LMMS is fairly well known. Searching for LMMS brings up our page, and we have so much "LMMS" stuff in the code, that a full name change is too much of an issue. Therefore the abbreviation "LMMS" is here for good, like it or not. However, if you can make LMMS stand for something more accurate, Toby and I will gladly consider your recommendation. For example "LMMS Make Marvelous Sounds" or "Linux Multitrack Music Studio" are fairly poor examples of what I mean. -Paul On Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 2:13 PM, Ray Rashif <sch...@gm...> wrote: > Yeah there was a similar question, or rather comment, a while ago (in the > IRC channel maybe?).
