My drummer can only hear himself through my sound settings. When I mute myself, because i don't want to hear myself twice I seem to mute him! So he can't hear himself drumming when i set my channel on mute..
I think somehow this relates to the delay we are experiencing.
What's the best setting in a group to set? Which people should i set to solo or mute?
There's a new button in the software that sets yourself in mute. What's the difference with the mute knob in your own channel?

Firstly, Jamulus's Rule Number One is: Do not listen to your direct signal. Always listen to your sound as it comes back from the server. If you listen to your signal before it gets to the server (or one or more people in the session are doing that), then you are pretty much guaraneed to go out of time.
The Mute Myself button is for stopping your sound going TO the server, so that other people cannot hear you (but you can hear yourself). It's for helping you set up your sound and testing it out without bothering other people with it.
The Mute buttons by each musician (including you) mutes the sound coming back FROM the server to you. Use this to mute people you don't want to hear.
The Solo buttons are for if you want to just play with a few people in the session and not others, in which case you just solo as many people as you want and the rest will be muted. Or you can use the Solo buttons to find out who to mute.
Hope that helps!

Normally you do not have to mute or solo. You have to hear yourself in the Jamulus mix, not in the local audio. Use headphones to isolate yourself from your local sound.
Said that, it is strange that you mute your drummer... are you sure he does not mute himself at the same time? Because the mute and solo buttons act only locally (not sure about the other mute - I only paid attention to it after reading your post :) ).

Asked Volker on another thread: the new button stops your sound being sent to others. The channel mute is for muting yourself or others, but the signal is still being sent.

There is some weirdness with the Mute Myself checkbox interacting with the Settings and causing increasing delay times. I think. Anybody else experience this?
