Hello, I had a working Jamulus account. I wanted to upgrade it and downloaded a new version. Before deleting my old version. I got that message - "Jamulus.exe System Error - The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1dll was not found. REinstalling the program may fix this problem.
So I uninstalled Jamulus (finding only one in the program files), and then reinstalled it. I still get this message.
Any advice? Thanks.

What version of Windows are you running? This sounds like it might be related to that.

I would also consider the possibility of a virus.
I searched my entire computer and there is no file with the name you mentioned.
There are actually several VCRUNTIME140_ files, but no "VCRUNTIME140_1dll"

Hello,
.dll problem resolved. Just for info sake, the situation was as follows.
It seemed that downloading a 2nd Jamulus before uninstalling 1st version,
corrupted (or something) the VCRUNTIME140_1dll. After deleting both
Jamulus programs, I downloaded the dll and 'dropped it into' a newly
downloaded version of Jamulus. Somehow, (my magic I assume) this was a
good remedy. After restarting the computer, the Jamulus worked well.
Thanks for your replies,
Bruce

Hello again,
My computer search yielded the same. No duplicate of missing file. Only
similar. What's wierd, is that it was fine when last used, about 2 months
ago.

VCRUNTIME140_1dll not found. How do I remedy this. I cannot access new
Jamulus because of this.
Hi Bruce. I have the same problem except I am (or would like to be!) a first time user. I feel like Alice: can't get into the secret garden. I have finally got an ethernet sorted out and now downloaded Jamulus but it has the same error. Where did you get the .dll from?

I just googled download for VCRUNTIME140_1dll . In the long run, that did
not work. So my computer is currently in the shop, trying to figure out
what's up.
I'll reply again, after I see what they have done to fix it. It may have
been because of a windows update. That sometimes messes up things.

I just heard from the repair man. The computer is ready and they apparently
disabled the driver and re connected it. I had downloaded the driver
called, 'ASIO4ALL' . Required for me to use Jamulus. Or perhaps been a
related driver to that name. Seems to be ok now
Back to the secret garden.
The secret garden remains just beyond reach for now.
I’ll keep practising on the clarinet! At least my difficulties there are
my own and I can slowly work at them.
If I do get it to work I’ll let you know.
All the best

I just woke up (I'm in the UK - I don't know where you are!) and realised
with a frisson of shame that I hadn't said: what a bummer that you too were
still stymied. Very glad to hear that you have resolved it. I hope you
are back to playing with other people soon. That's what it's all about.
I did also download ASIO4ALL so maybe the same issue. Back to the horrible
guts-of-the-computer stuff after breakfast!
