I have a Lenovo Ideapad Slim1 with Windows 10 and have installed the ASIO4all driver. If i connect to a public server I can hear others. When I play my instrument the LEDs of the Input column light up, but when I connect to an empty server I can't hear my output. Please help!

OK, I have attached a USB microphone and tweaked some I/O settings and am getting some sound back. But there are horrible noises and the output sound is through the computer speakers even though headphones are attached. And the headphones work fine when i run other programs eg. VLC player. ???!!!

Hi Julia,
ASIO4ALL is a difficult story. You will have to drill down and find the combination of inputs and outputs that works, if any at all.
I don't want to discourage you, but personally I have a Lenovo Thinkpad and never got ASIO4ALL to work correctly. I quickly bought an USB audio interface with it's own ASIO driver and never looked back. Much better sound quality and lower latency.

Thanks for your answer, Don. I eventually sorted out which inputs/outputs
to use and now the problem is sound volume and even more important,
quality. I will look into a USB audio interface , thanks again.
