The problem was the sync between my Hammerfall soundcard and the ADA8000 interface. I reset the clock and the problem is now gone.

    Hello
    My system
    Ubuntu studio 18.04
    kxstudio real time kernel
    Jamulus 3.4.4.
    3GHz P4
    8 GB RAM
    256 GB SSD
    RME Hammerfall
    ADA8000
This system runs Jackrack, Jackmixer, qjackctl and Alsaplayer without a hitch at 2.9 ms latency with P64 n2 at about 80% CPU load

However, I can not make Jamulus work on the system. I have a constant jitter that garbles the music. The buffer settings do not help, it seems like they would not have any effect at all.

Any ideas what to do would be appreciated.

    Timo

Have you checked the sample rate? Jamulus needs 48 kHz.

Yes I have, Jamulus refuses to start with anything but 48 kHz.

What about the Jitter Buffer settings in Jamulus Settings dialog? Have you tried to disable the Auto and set both faders to the maximum? Do you still get audio drop outs if you do this?

Yes, I have disablebed the auto and tried everything between 0 and max. The strage thing is that this has no influence on the jitter. It stays the same at all time regardless of the buffer settings. I am really puzzled.

    SOLVED.
