it seems that Microsoft is now trying to improve it's native audio interface. In the new version of Windows (Vista) they claim to reach audio delays much lower than what is possible right now. On some internet pages you can read values like 5 ms. Here is an official news page:
We can hope that the final version of Windows Vista is actually capable of all these features. This will most certainly enable llcon to run on Windows without the need of writing ASIO interface code in llcon.

Instead of waiting for the sound card manufactorys to write drivers for the new Vista audio interface, I decided to implement the well known ASIO interface for the llcon software. The new release 2.1.0 includes this new feature.
