Roland TD-11 -Midi -
Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 - USBC - Superior Drummer 3 (macos Mojave)
Beyerdynamics M201 -
I can see the meter going up using the microphone, but playing the drums never shows any movement. Other musicians in the session can hear my voice, but do not hear the drums.
Is this a VST plugin issue, a Midi or audio interface issue?
Do I really need to reroute audio (loopback interface, e.g. blackhole)? This does add substantial delay and is acutally not an option.
Please see the current configuration in the attached .pdf.

PS: this piece of software really works, hearing people from all over the world playing ... live : ) !
PPS: I should add that connecting the TD-11 using UBS is only supporting a sample rate of 4410 Hz, while Jamulus is supporting 48000 Hz "only".
I have no experience with plugins like Superior Drummer and Jamulus on the Mac. I did a similar thing with Jack under Linux and that worked without a problem, even with very low latency. How you route these things on MacOS is a different story...

Thanks Volker. Then I need to fallback to the before mentioned audio rerouting e.g. with blackhole. Although I had server and client running on Ubuntu, this will unfortunately not help, as my SD3 plugin is only available for Mac/Windows. Have a good night. bernhard

Hi - I'm trying to get my Roland TD-11 to play with Jamulus. It seems you can't do it directly because of the sample rate issue you mentioned. What's the best (lowest latency) way to get around this? I was trying to run my kit through an old MBox (digidesign) but couldn't get it to work. Any ideas are apreciated!

Hi, correct … TD-11 is sample-rate 44.1kHz, Jamulus accepts 48KHz only. There are some audio rerouting tools in the market e.g. blackhole, which is free, Jack, which I couldn’t use due macOS Mojave incompatibilities and others. I decided to go with Rogue loopback and result are quite good. Also, Rogue allows rerouting applications explicitly which helps in my case, because of using Toontrack "Superior Drummer 3”. This is my setup:
Both, Jamulus and SD3 run with a buffer size of 64 with network buffers enabled for Jamulus. I frequently have a ping time between 10 and 15ms (my Internet connection is 200/20). Latency is acceptable and I already had some successful online jamming sessions. Don’t know whether images are uploaded to the forum - just in case see the image for the loopback and Jamulus configuration.

This is my setup:
TD-11 -MIDI- Scarlett 2i4 -USB- macOS
SD3 is using audio interface Scarlett
in loopback add SD3 as source application
Jamulus is using loopback interface for input, scarlett for output

Do they make a PC version for loopback?
