Hello from Switzerland,
I would like to have the server on an independent PC (Mac) but both (client and server) on the same network.
It wasn't possible on my first try.
Any advice please?

Hello from UK! It's certainly possible - just make sure you're connecting the client that's on local network to the internal IP address of the machine the server is on (that is, the LAN address) regardless of whether your server is public or private.
Bear in mind that the server's IP (it'll be something like 192.168.x.x or similar) may change over time unless you can set up your router's DHCP server to allocate it a fixed one (or host name).

Thank you very much!
If that doesn't work, check for any firewalls or anti-virus getting in the way.
It works! Thank's again!
