I'm Bo, I am new here and not too skilled in networks. :-(
As a member of a small a cappella group I think Jamulus seems to be a wonderful software especially in these times.
So far I have been checking video-clips on Youtube and reading forums about private servers in Jamulus before setting up a private server for Jamuls. The reason for considering private Server is that we are far from places with servers and we want the latenc as low as possible.
My idea is to host the server on one PC (PC 1) and the client on another PC (PC 2), both in the same LAN. Both PC’s are Windows 10 machines and quite new.
On both machines IvP4 are set to static addresses.
I have also forwarded the port 22124 (UDP) in my router (ASUS RT-AC6U B1) according to guides. I have permitted Jamulus to communicate in Windows defender via a rule for Port 22124 (both UDP and TCP).
Firewall in router is not active.
I have been able to connect to server locally, but not my friends from outside get the meddage "Trying to connect...".
I would be grateful for any ideas how to proceed.

Bo: From your server machine, try doing a Google search of "what is my ip address". You will see the public IP address of your router. Give that address to use to your friends when trying to connect to your server.

Thankyou very much.
I did that and now it works. I also found that I had a VPN active earlier, which I no inactivated.
Do you think that a VPN can be a problem?

Definitely a VPN will affect things. The VPN takes all your PC's internet traffic and funnels through the VPN pipe to the local network at the other end of the VPN. It will not allow any other local traffic to access your PC.

I will do that and test during coming week.
