Public Server on My computer low ping time but high delay time

    Here's what I am using.
Windows 10, Dell G5, i7, 512ssd, 15.8 gig available ram, Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 3rd gen, ethernet connection from router, Bell Fibe internet 50mbps speed.

When I use my server by myself I have zero ping time, but 27-35 delay time. The jitter buffer is manual at 3.

What can I do to reduce the delay time?

I've the same question. Nearly the same configuration as Daniel. Client and server on the same computer, buffer size on 128. UTP-cable disconnected because server and client are on the same computer. All unneccesary applications closed and still a overall delay time of 30 ms.

You don't say what ASIO driver you are using, but when connecting to localhost that 27-35ms is basically the latency of your audio device (assuming you're not taxing your CPU in some way with another app). The only way you're going to get that down is in the driver.

So, what driver are you using, and have you tried changing any buffer or other settings in it? If you sill can't get it below about 15-25ms with any combination of buffer settings in the driver and/or in Jamulus, then try booting the machine with Jamulus OS and see if that gets better performance from the hardware.

Rebooting the machine with Jamulus OS brings the delay back to 20 ms. So it's windows that add's some extra delay.
    Thanks for the tip.
