Last weekend I updated my Jamulus Server (running on Ubuntu 18.04) from 3.5.4. to 3.5.5.
On monday I had a rehearsel with my band and I noticed that the red buffer lite, on my win10 client side, lit up very often and the sound was distorted more often.
(Client and server are running on the same network) .
I downgraded the Jamulus server to 3.5.4. and the descibed behavior is gone.
Does someone else has a similar experience????

I just tried downgrading to 3.5.4 from 3.5.5 and playing for about 30mins on that. I got a few buffer red lights, but no more than I think I was getting before.

mmmm strange, did you use 3.5.5 or 3.5.4. at the client side?? I've noticed tonight I was still using version 3.5.4 on the client, maybe that was causing the poorer performance.
I will do another test tomorrow.

Hi, we also have issues with the 3.5.5 version. Compared to the 3.5.4 the connection quality is bad, lot of noise. Tried during different day time, but its hardly possible to get a session running smothly with 5 participants. Nothing changed on the end users sides, all connected via cable to their router. It worked well, but since version 3.5.5 its hardly possible to jam with Jamulus.
We have users with MacOS and Windows 10.

we tried on the central server and also with two private servers, had issues all the time. will try again today later to see if it works again better today .

Hi Again, i tried with Jamulus 3.5.3 and compared to 3.5.4 and 3.5.5. Even in the server list, the ping to the central server is about 2-3 ms more under 3.5.4 and 3.5.5 than under 3.5.3. So it looks like there has something changed from 3.5.3 to the higher versions impacting the connnection.

Ah, no I was using 3.5.5 client side (Linux) while the server was on 3.5.4 (also Linux).

Hi Matthias, are you also using/connecting to your own (private) server??
Or are you only talking about the client side?
Hi Luuk,
we tried on the central server and also with two private servers, had issues all the time. will try again today later to see if it works again better today .

Problem seems to have vanished by itself, tried 3.5.5. client and 3.5.4. client on a 3.5.5. server, hardly any buffer red lights.
Friday evening, 5-06, I will test it again during a band rehearsal.
FYI, I created a Github Issue based on your discussion: https://github.com/corrados/jamulus/issues/325
I could not reproduce the issue on my server (which is also running Ubuntu).
As promised yesterday I test it last night, had no problems at all, case closed for me!!
hi, i also played yesterday and all went well. no clue what the issue was between the two versions when comparing. Strange.
