This thread is meant to be open ended and provide a means to talk about when and where (server) to meet, what to play and to socially hook up with musicians who share the same musical interests. Going further reciprocal session times could be set and even exchange of sheet music could be facilitated

Here are some tunes from the last three night's sessions I attended that seemed to have worked well for a wider number of (Jazz-oriented) musicians:
All Blues
The Chicken
Watermelon Man
Cantaloup Island
Wave
Blue Bossa
From that, I take that Hardbop, Soul Jazz, Latin and some Fusion may be the genres well enjoyed. Here are some suggestions accordingly:
More Hardbop- and Soul Jazz oriented
Blues by Five
Red Clay
Walk Tall
Jive Samba
Mercy, Mercy
More Fusion-oriented
Green Tea
Red Baron
Coming Home Baby
More Latin-oriented
Liberated Brother
Desafinado
Samba Cantina
Let me know what you think, comment and make your own suggestions.
Also a question: What were your experiences which servers provided for the best (Jazz) session experiences? Are there set times when something is going on?

Some stuff that worked really nicely in sessions I attended during the last few days - please complement with your own observations:
Sunny
Hey Joe
Summertime
Isn't She Lovely (... played on every other server once an hour)
Time After Time
Song For My Father (... watch out for slightly different B part :-)
And some new suggestions that should/may be session appropriate:
Where Are You (super slow ballad by Sonny Rollins)
For All We know
A Weaver of Dreams
Eight Counts for Rita
Footprints
So What
Cissy Strut
Chameleon
How Deep is Your Love
Valerie (Amy Winehouese)
Smooth Operator
Wind Cries Mary (Hendrix)
Mr. Magic (Grover Washington or Amy Winehouse Version ... both very similar)

I have put together a IRealPro Playlist with stuff that worked well in Jamulus sessions or of which I thought they may work well (not to complicated structures and changes ... fun to play and to improvise "against").
I have to get acquainted with hwo to use the forum, hence I start with the PDF attachment. I can make this available in IRealPro format once I figure how ...

is there interest in a - lets say weekly - Jazz session with a set day and time, a preset "room" (server) to meet at and some curation of what is to be played beforehand? ... Sort of a setlist with maybe 10 pieces (or more), so that everybody attending can prepare and have some sheets ready?
!!! If yes, please respond and send a sign of interest here !!!
It appears to me that (Simon Tomlinson's) Jazz Lounge would be a good server to meet: Simon Tomlinson has established a very well mainatined and performing server with >Jazz Lounge<. I get better perfromance on it, even though it is in the UK, than on some of the much closer servers in Germany. It appears there is less jitter et al.
(Jazz Lounge also offers a "hard wired" Jitsi video room for those who like seeing each other during sessions ... not at all a mandatory feature, but a nice one. I tried it yesterday, talked it thru with Simon and it was enjoyable. After frustrating Zoom experiences - for music; all else/teaching works well on Zoom - I found the parallel to Jamulus Jitsi a good thing. Simon managed to hook up the Jazz Lounge sound from Jamulus with that room, too. So, in principal sessions can be recorded even streamed to Youtube with little effort!)

I'm interested but only got the program running yesterday and still trying to set up properly
As of yesterday other peole could hear me but I couldn't hear them, and didn't realise they could hear me! Which was quite comical until they had to ask me to shhh, politely! I am in UK, please keep me informed and hopefully will be set up in a few days. Am getting help from two others elsewhere in the forum.

Take your time Ben ... I'd say it takes two to three sessions for almost everyone until things are tweaked out and the experience becomes very fruitful. But from the quality of the session going on now every day on many servers I take that the benefit and inspiration is well worth of the effort ...

I have updated the IRealPro playlist and called it Jamulus Jazz Lounge 50; it is already beyond 50 titles and living, but what the heck. The list consists of music I heave heard or played in Jamulus session over the course of the last weeks.
The Jamulus Jazz Lounge Radio Show airs Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays 6pm CET, also Sundays 10pm and Mondays 1am. It features mostly music on the above Jamulus Jazz 50 playlist and what not ...
I am attaching the weekly roster (changes frequently to keep it interesting). A day starts sort of easy listening with a twist until ist gets classic (rock) with some metal alloying. The afternoon gets more and more jazzy and funky. The daily highlight is the midnight Zappa Zpecial. Listen in and tell me what you think ...
correct, this will lead you to Laut.FM/sfbeat2020 which is my station. My station's name is sfbeat2020 and is under the Laut.FM umbrella. It can also be found from the Laut.FM landing page and is making its way into the different radio logs.

I have also created a Jamulus Jazz Lounge Radio Show honouring Jamulus on my Radio Station:
http://stream.laut.fm/sfbeat2020

Interesting. Will listen to the Zappa programme.
But if I cut out the end of the address to this:
https://sfbeat2020.stream.laut.fm/
I get a different stream. Would that be the home stream of Lautfm? Is your own station called sfbeat2020?
... did the stream work for you meantimes?
Yes, worked well thanks

correct, this will lead you to Laut.FM/sfbeat2020 which is my station. My station's name is sfbeat2020 and is under the Laut.FM umbrella. It can also be found from the Laut.FM landing page and is making its way into the different radio logs.
