Started with the Behringer UMC22 but could not get any decent sound quality. Connected to the Jamulus server okay and could use the chat window but the sound was a no-go. Kept breaking up and could hear every fourth note maybe and could not hear voice at all. Switched to Focusrite Scarlet Solo and everything worked perfectly right away. Any suggestions on why we may have had issues with the Behringer unit?

I also tried a Behringer UMC22 first. In my opinion the driver is the problem. I first used the asio4all-driver and as it didn't work properly I searched for the Behringer UMC-driver (BEHRINGER_2902_X64_2.8.40). But it failed also on my Windows10 Home.
I searched jamulus-homepage for tips and found the list of tested hardware (LINK:https://jamulus.io/de/wiki/Sound-Devices]. There I found that the Behringer UMC202HD would work well. I sent back the UMC22 and ordered the UMC202HD. It works well with the driver: BEHRINGER_UMC_v4.59.0_2019-03-14.

Thanks for the links. Any thoughts on why that UMC22 driver won't work? I'm trying to get my jam session group set up but the cost of the bigger unit will be a problem for some of them.

No idea. But there are other threads, where you might find hints or
answers. Good luck.

It's known as cost cutting. Behringer decided to stop support for the ASIO driver so you have to use ASIO4ALL which is, said kindly, sub-optimal.
Note that there is a whole pile of interfaces less costly than the Focusrite. I would, however, check in the known good hardware list and be sure that they have an ASIO driver before investing. https://jamulus.io/wiki/Sound-Devices

Buy the Behringer UMC202HD for around 60 bucks and leave all your problems behind you, it comes with a real (native) ASIO driver which is fast and stable.

It’s the same driver I’m using with my Behringer UMC1820. I confirm, fast and stable.
It works also with the UMC204HD and UMC404HD (they have MIDI IN/OUT)
