I tried this and it's great. Thanks for putting this together.
I have a fairly old PC so can't boot from USB but burned to DVD and no probs.
I installed to the PC in the end and now have a dual boot Win10 / JamulusOS PC.
Setting up the soundcard was a little troublesome but some googling and using alsamixer in the terminal let me make the changes I needed (the volume levels on the output were set to zero).
I managed to "cattle" my MBR in the process though because I installed to a USB drive which wasn't recognised on startup by the BIOS so Grub didn't know where to look. Easy enough to restore (you should make backups before major changes).
Can't wait to use it now.
Cheers.
Mike.

As you install Jamulus OS on your hard drive it' a good idea to backup things.
While you're now using Jamulus OS on your hard drive, it's a good idea to make at least two partitions:
one partition for /home where every personal data is stored (personal configuration files, music data, documents ...)
one partition for / where system files goes
This way when you install a new version of your Linux OS you don't loose your personal data (backup will still have to be consider for safer policy).
When you use Jamulus OS on a USB stick/drive with persistance you can backup your USB stick/drive modification with mkusb using "backup persitence live home" and restore it with "restore persitence live home".
I'm working on a v2.

I'm really struggling to install this OS side by side on a Windows 10 system. Grub won't install as it can't find the EFI partition. Its a modern UEFI motherboard so no legacy options either. Has anyone successfully build a dual boot machine? Any tips?

Other than disabling secure boot, I've not had issues with dual-booting but it's been a while since I did it. If grub can't see the partition table that's a bit odd though. I assume you installed Windows first, then created a GPT partition for Linux?

Ah, ok I get it. Thanks. I am interested though in the smallest cheapest, most reliable dedicated mini-pc’s people have or get running. I’m new so probably plenty of info for me to find on the list. Thanks again. Jamulus is helping keep me sane and employed during COVID.
Hello,
Jamulus OS v1.05 is out !

Hi Laurant, is this something we can link to from the installation section of the wiki as an option along with the standard Win/Mac/Linux installs?
https://github.com/corrados/jamulus/wiki/Software-Manual#ready-install-jamulus
That would be nice and kind Gilgongo ! Do you need some informations or a text ?
I was thinking I could just put a link to the SF project on that wiki page and call it "Run Jamulus on any computer using this USB stick with Jamulus OS out of the box"?
I forgot to mention that by now only PC 64 bits is supported.
OK sure. And I guess it won't work if you plug it into a Mac maybe.
On a recent Mac may be it could work. I've never tested Linux on a Mac.
OK I've added a link on the install page.
Great, I'll give it a try, thanks.

Fantastic. Thanks Laurent.
Would I be able to update to v2 from the command line in the version I already have?
Happy to Beta for you if this helps.
Cheers.
I'm afraid not.
This will be a major upgrade version.
Only live USB use are officially supported by Jamulus OS.
I'm really struggling to install this OS side by side on a Windows 10 system. Grub won't install as it can't find the EFI partition. Its a modern UEFI motherboard so no legacy options either. Has anyone successfully build a dual boot machine? Any tips?

Hi
To get this to work on an Acer laptop, I had to load "shimx64efi" in BIOS, grub did not work!
Colin
Would this run on a raspberry pi 4?
No, it runs only on 64 bits PC.
The new pi 400 is 64bits and can have a lot of ram. Might it work on that?
Raspberry series is not pc but arm processor and requires arm compilation. Thus it does not work with Jamulus OS V2 and V1.
Ah, ok I get it. Thanks. I am interested though in the smallest cheapest, most reliable dedicated mini-pc’s people have or get running. I’m new so probably plenty of info for me to find on the list. Thanks again. Jamulus is helping keep me sane and employed during COVID.
