Hi, Thanks for the great software first. However, I'm stuck with a system that uses a 2.4 kernel. The exact version is 2.4.21. I used the lkcd-2.4.20 patch and modified it to patch with 2.4.21 without issues. It compiled, when crashed intentionally, dumped to swap well. During reboot however, when trying to dump back to /var/log/dump/0, the "lcrash -r" command involed from "lkcd save" fails. The version of the utils I'm using is 4.1-1. Is that the issue? So, I copied the map, dump and kerntypes to another sysem and tried to run the "lcrash -r map.0 dump.0 kerntypes.0" command. This time around, I got an "invalid address mapping" error. This has left me confused. On this system, running Redhat 9.0, I compiled lkcdutils from source. When I compile the utils from source, does the lkcd patched kernel (or the same version without a patch) need to be there at /usr/src/linux? What version of the lkcdutils am I supposed to use with the 2.4.20 patch? Please help! :-D TIA. -- Shuveb Hussain. When you lose, be patient. When you achieve, be even more patient.
