Iam trying to capture real time data (graphical) from a device that is connected to my computer through its USB port. I wanted to know if LIve graph is suitable for my application and also am not a programmer so how much programming skills will Live graph require for my application.
Iam trying to dowload Live graph and i also installed Java 6 but am still not able to execute the .jar files. I do not know why
I would really appreciate if somebody could help me in this regard..

if double-clicking on jars does not work, you probably did not set java up to handle .jar extensions automatically. do that or ee the LG website for instructions for command line executuon.
LG is a very simple program for all users, but it also provides tools for integration with other software for whose who understand how to use them.
As for your USB device, it all depends on the format the data comes in and on how it cam be accessed.
