#15 configure.ac:13: error: required file './compile' not found

Hi, I've the following error while running configure :

checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... /usr/bin/mkdir -p
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking whether make supports nested variables... yes
./configure: line 3037: -d: command not found
mkdir: cannot create directory 'm4': File exists

this is not a showstopper, but when running make :

cd . && /bin/sh /home/will/Documents/litesql/src/litesql-src-0.3.17/missing automake-1.14 --foreign

I am using Arch linux X64, and I have the same issues with Cygwin x64.

    I had same issue. automake --add-missing solved it. It should be invoked in my opinion during ./configure

    There is autogen.sh included, which rebuilds the configure script on the host system. the provided configure is just for convenience.
    Personnally I prefer the cmake based build, the auto tools based build is not always up to date.
