Pinnacle PCTV support(daemons/hw_pinsys.c) accepts pre-processed codes(3-bytes at 1200 baud). mode2 is only used with un-processed remote control data(like from hHome brew hardware, lirc_serial,etc). So you can't use mode2 with your hardware. There should be a pre-made lircd.conf remote control definition file that you use. (remotes/pinnacle_systems), put this at /etc/lircd.conf. You don't want to load lirc_serial.o. To test: Run irw. irw should return button press strings if you have the remote control lircd.conf setup properly. If not: Compile with debug logging enabled, then run lircd with debug option(-D5 -n), run irw. There are debug traces in the receive routine in hw_pinsys.c that should show up if you are receiving data. If still stuck, get back to us on the list.
