78L05 vs. 7805 voltage regulator

I am about to build a receiver circuit using the radio shack IR
receiver IC.  I could only find a 7805 voltage regulator.  Is there
any meaningful difference between the 78L05 and the 7805?  Should I
try harder to find a 78L05 or will the 7805 be sufficient?
