Hi All! After reading all sorts of documentation and checking log files, I finally send a message to this mailing list because I ran out of ideas on what's going wrong: I have a WinTV card and I'd like to use the onboard IR receiver with LIRC. However, it just doesn't work. I'm running the 2.4.5 kernel on a SuSE 7.0 system. I configured (lirc_i2c) and compiled the latest lirc package (version 0.6.4). When I try to run the test program (xmode2) I get the error message: xmode2: error opening /dev/lirc xmode2: No such device Basically the same errors are reported when I try to use lircd and irexec. When starting the programs the modules get loaded though: Here the log: Sep 4 21:30:44 haeuptling kernel: lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61 Sep 4 21:30:44 haeuptling kernel: bttv: driver version 0.7.57 loaded Sep 4 21:30:44 haeuptling kernel: bttv: using 2 buffers with 2080k (4160k total) for capture Sep 4 21:30:44 haeuptling kernel: bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).
