Hi. I'm really lost in configuring lirc. I have an Ubuntu 11.10 amd64 installation, and *without* installing lirc first, it seems that the kernel can find my IR receiver without problems: Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 6.978769] IR NEC protocol handler initialized Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 7.326595] IR RC5(x) protocol handler initialized Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 7.375224] IR RC6 protocol handler initialized Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 7.464160] ene_ir: chip is 0x3926 - kbver = 0x00, rev = 0xd2 Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 7.464163] ene_ir: PLL freq = 1406 Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 7.464164] ene_ir: KB3926D or higher detected Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 7.464176] ene_ir: Firmware regs: 80 04 Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 7.464177] ene_ir: Hardware features: Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 7.464178] ene_ir: * Uses GPIO 40 for IR demodulated input Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 7.577894] IR JVC protocol handler initialized Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 8.018627] IR Sony protocol handler initialized Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 8.040046] Registered IR keymap rc-rc6-mce Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 8.040153] input: ENE eHome Infrared Remote Receiver as /devices/virtual/rc/rc0/input5 Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 8.040252] rc0: ENE eHome Infrared Remote Receiver as /devices/virtual/rc/rc0 Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 8.040286] ene_ir: driver has been successfully loaded Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 8.150200] lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, major 251 Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 8.265233] Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link AGN driver for Linux, in-tree: Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 8.284028] rc rc0: lirc_dev: driver ir-lirc-codec (ene_ir) registered at minor = 0 Oct 27 00:08:08 pcpcpcpc kernel: [ 8.284030] IR LIRC bridge handler initialized Now I wonder, why isn't this enough to get my receiver configured? I have a /dev/lirc0 a /dev/input*, everything seems fine, but instead no output seems to be generated from both devices. I guess I have to put somewhere a configuration for my remote, but where, if I don't have a lirc daemon that reads /etc/lirc/lircd.conf? If I install lirc, what parameters should I put in hardware.conf? By the way, the config for my remote should be http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/sony/RM-883 I'm getting frustrated at this. |
